A per-garment price list only means something if it is the same list the counter staff are working from. Ours is — the numbers above are what you will be quoted, not a starting estimate.

What Changes the Price Within a Category

The same garment type can land at different points in its range for reasons that are visible the moment we look at it:

• Fabric. Silk, cashmere, and other delicate fibres take longer and need gentler solvent handling than cotton or polyester.
• Construction. A lined blazer or a boned bodice is cleaned and pressed in layers, not as a single piece.
• Embellishment. Beading, sequins, and lace need to be protected during processing rather than run through standard cleaning.
• Size and volume. A full-length coat or an elaborate two-piece saree simply involves more fabric than a blouse.
• Condition. Heavy soiling, odour, or stains sometimes need pre-treatment before the standard process, which is flagged before we proceed.

None of this is padding — it is where the extra minutes actually go, and it is why a beaded gown and a cotton shirt were never going to cost the same.

Doorstep Pickup: The Delivery Math

For East Canberra residents, the doorstep option changes the real cost of getting something cleaned:

For HDB residents, doorstep collection costs nothing extra on top of the garment price — there is no reason to travel anywhere. For condo and landed homes, S$5.60 round trip is usually still worth it against the time and transport cost of two trips to a shopfront, especially when several items go in the same bag. Outside our East Canberra delivery zone, drop-off at the dry cleaning studio is the option.

Turnaround: Standard and Express

Our standard cycle runs on a weekly rhythm rather than a per-item countdown. Leave garments in a bag outside your door before 9 a.m. on collection day, and they come back cleaned, pressed, and wrapped in protective plastic by the end of the week. If you are working to a deadline — a flight, an event, an interview — message us before booking; express processing is available subject to an open slot, and it is far easier to arrange in advance than to ask for on the day.

Dry Cleaning + Alterations, One Trip

If a garment needs both a fit adjustment and a clean, the order matters: alter first, then clean. Pinning and fitting can leave marks on fresh pressing, and cleaning fabric that is about to be cut or taken in is money spent on cloth that may not stay in the finished garment. Mention both when you book — a blazer that needs its sleeves shortened or a dress that needs its hem taken up can be finished and cleaned in one appointment rather than two separate trips. If the fix is urgent, express alterations can also be arranged alongside the cleaning.

Dry Clean or Wash? A Quick Rule

Not every "dry clean only" label is absolute, and not every garment needs the full process:

• Structured, lined, or embellished — blazers, gowns, boned bodices, beaded pieces — dry clean. Water and home washing can distort the shape or damage trims.
• Everyday cotton, polyester, and casual wear — either works. Washing is cheaper (from S$4.80 versus S$7.80 for the same item) but a dry clean gives a crisper finish and gentler handling over repeated cycles.
• Silk and delicate fabrics — dry clean, even when there is no formal label. Water can leave marks that are difficult to reverse.
